Nico’s Spicy Pork Skewers

There is nothing like a relaxing BBQ in your back garden to enjoy the sunshine, eat and drink at a leisurely place. This easy recipe is perfect to prepare in advance to either cook on the BBQ or in a grill.


  • 600g Lean Pork, cut into inch big cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Nico’s Polle Polle Spice Mix
  • BBQ sauce
  • Vegetable Oil

  • Skewers - Bamboo or Metal Skewers


Cut the pork into cubes if not already done and place into a bag, adding in 1 tablespoon of oil and the Nico’s Polle Polle spice mix. Massage well in the bag, seal and put in the fridge to marinade for at least 30 minutes. If using bamboo skewers, soak in water prior to threading the meat on. Or if you see yourself as a BBQ master, and have metal skewers, that would be even better. You should be able to thread 6 cubes of pork per skewer. Get the BBQ ready to a nice heat and start adding on the skewers turning every 4 minutes so all sides are cooked evenly. Make sure that the pork is cooked well. Baste the skewers with BBQ sauce and place back on the BBQ to give a nice smoky sweet glaze for a couple of minutes.

Serve with tortillas, a healthy salad and yogurt and dill dip.
