Sitting in the pub you will never know that parts of this building dates back to 1700's and the site was originally a trade market for timber and then became an Inn, providing accommodation to travellers on the busy High Road. The historical elements contributes towards the characteristic of the building that you see today with its low ceiling and small pocket areas to sit in.
